Jasinski Appointed to French Professorship

Rene Jasinski, now a professor at the Sorbonne, has been appointed professor of French Literature here, Provost Paul H. Buck announced yesterday.

Jasinski has been called "one of the world's outstanding authorities on French Literature." He is especially interested in the works of the 17th and 19th centuries.

Also, Judd D. Hubert and James B. Wadsworth, formerly instructors in French, have been promoted to assistant professors. Wadsworth, whose specialty is the literature of the French and Italian Renaissance, will also be Senior Tutor of Romance Languages. Hubert is an authority on French literature of the 17th century and of the modern period.
