Varsity and freshman wrestlers face powerful Yale teams today at New Haven, as the varsity rides the momentum of a victory over Columbia and the Yardlings strive to protect their unbeaten record.
The varsity lineup shows Captain Johnny Lee at 123 pounds, while brothers Dick and Bud Adams compete at 130 and 137. Icko Iben will wrestle at 147, as Chick Chandler, Joe Hubbard, and Ken Culbert fight at 157, and 177 respectively. George Bates completes the team, wrestling in the unlimited class.
With its 5-2-2 record, the varsity competes at 3 p.m, after the freshman team finishes its 1:30 match. The freshmen have a 6-0 record, but the only team that they both have faced is Andover. Since both clubs beat Andover by identical 27-3 scores, the fact has no value for comparative purposes.
Four Undefeated
At present, four freshmen grapplers are undefeated. They are Phil Burnaman at 137, Harry Brawley at 147, Captain Dick Hook at 157, and Charlie Harding in the 167 pound class.
The Yale match completes the freshman schedule while the varsity's last contest will be at Princeton next Friday and Saturday for the Eastern Intercollegiate Championship.
