Law, Business School Fives Play All-Star Game Today

By Andrew E. Norman .

With both squads picked from the cream of the nation's basketball talent, tonight's Law School-Business School All-Star game should be easily the top show in the Indoor Athletic Building this season. The trouble begins at 8.

The commercial interest, who have won four of the six games since the annual series began, are heavily favored tonight for two reasons.

First, they have Ed Leede, former Dartmouth captain and then for two years one of the best guards in professional basketball with the Boston Celtics. Leede is also the official coach of the Business School squad. Al Stein, last year's Columbia captain, Dick Kazmaier of Princeton, Dick Stubbing of Notre Dame, and Bill Butterfield of Purdue give the team plenty of variety in background.

Four of the Business men are former stars on the Harvard varsity--center Bill Prior and guards Jerry Murphy, Bill Hickey, and Bob Bramhall. Dick Bergman of Dartmouth, Dave Smith of Trinity, and Don Hays of Iowa round out the squad.

The lawyers have no lack of either talent or variety, and they overwhelmed a Yale team, 41 to 29, Saturday, but they have no one to match Leede. Only two played for Norm Shepard--Bill Gabler and Jim Downey.

The rest of the 11-man team is composed of Bill Proctor of Texas, Everett Parker of Dartmouth, Ken Hirsch of Penn, Ron Gagnon of Providence, Norm Dorsen of Columbia, Don Ross of Yale, and John Horty of Amherst, Dave Atcheson of Stanford, and Lennie Pastolove--a last minute replacement for Derek Bok of Stanford.

The second factor in favor of the Busi- ness School squad is practice. The R-School has an active intra-mural program which enables its stars to keep in some thing resembling condition. The Law School has less time for sports.

Four members of the Business squad have played together for months representing New Section F. Murphy, Karmater, Smith, and Bramhall. Their spotless record includes a Victory over the U.S.S. Worcester, which subsequently won the Atlantic Fleet Championship (Battleship and Cruiser Division). Former CRIMSON sports editor Peter B. Taub '31 played for the Worcester club.

But a few sporadic intra-mural games have hardly kept the R-Schoolers in top shape, and tonight's affair should get fairly frantic as action quickens.
