Anticipated dueling between the Cleary brothers never had a chance to develop in the freshman hockey team's 9 to 0 slaughter of Belmont Hill at the Arena yesterday. The Yardlings take on B.C. at Lynn tonight.
Captain Bill Cleary of the freshmen scored three times, but his brother Bob Cleary of Belmont failed to solve the problem offered by goalie Charlie Flynn. It was Flynn's first shutout.
The freshmen without defensemen Marie Celi and Pete Summers, took two periods to shake off exam legs, them scored six times in the final period. Only Cleary racked up more than one goal. Joe Chehore, Carl Purnell, Art French, Clark Potter, Dick Allen, and wink Childs each had one score.
Once-defeated Boston College is out for revenge against the Yardlings tonight at 8:15 p.m. The Eagle's only loss was an 8 to 3 drubbing at the hands of the freshmen on December 17.
