Undergraduate members of College political organizations praised last night the Student Council-sponsored poll on indoctrination in the College.
It was also learned yesterday that the Student Council had met with Dean of the Faculty McGeorge Bundy before preceeding with the poll. Bundy, however, did not advise Council members on their project.
David A. Hanson '55, World Federalist delegate, speaking only for himself, termed the poll "the right idea with a good purpose." Hanson said the World Federalists are meeting on Thursday and will take a stand on the poll at that time.
Louis F. Sharpe '54, of the Council for Minority Rights, also approved the idea of a poll but thought it shouldn't be limited in scope. "It is the right of students to voice opinions on professor's," Sharp said. Sharp continued, "The poll should also include the question of student rights government interference in education and the smearing of professors."
The poll, as planned by the Council, would consist of two questions, one asking whether students feel that they are being indoctrinated to communism by professors. The second would ask them to describe the method of indoctrination.
