Hans C. Vitzthum '54 of Lowell House and Putney, Vt., is the new captain of the varsity ski team.

A past junior letterman, Vitzthum specializes in cross-country jumps. He also skis downhill slalom, but has not competed in this event since his freshman year.

In the eleven-team Eastern Inter-collegiate Skiing Association meet last year, Vitzthum placed second in the cross country jump combined and third in the special cross country.

The incumbent captain is a graduate of the Putney School, Putney, Vt., where he was also on the ski team.
