Leverett Battles for First Place, Yale Trip As House Football Season Nears Completion

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

With only one week remaining in inter-House competition, teams are still fighting to determine who will play at New Haven on Friday, November 20.

All House tackle football teams will be paired off against. Yale teams ranked equal in inter College standings. Of the soccer and touch football teams, only the champions will make the trip.

Undefeated Leverett must get by Kirkland (2-1-2) this Friday and Winthrop (3-1-1) next Wednesday to preserve its lead over Dunster, which has lost a game to the Bunnies. The Funsters will face Dudley on Friday and Adams Tuesday.

In soccer a battle of unbeaten elevens may take place. Lowell loads the league with five wins, no losses, and one tie, but Leverett has a 4-0-1 record. If the Bunnies can defeat Kirkland this Thursday, they will meet the Bellboys on Tuesday with a Yale trip going to the winner.

Winthrop's touch football team, if it can extend its perfect record past Adams (3-2-0) and last-place Leverett (0-4-1), will earn an all expenses-paid trip to New Haven also.

In other official House tackle football games, Kirkland meets Eliot Tuesday, and the Commuters meet Lowell on Wednesday, the last day of the season. The teams then move to Yale for the inter-mural championship and traditional House-College contests.
