Students in five Houses yesterday learned that food can be as stimulating as any weekend refreshment. An undetermined number of Winthrop, Kirkland, Lowell, Eliot, and Leverett residents were awakened early Monday morning by sharp internal distress.
Since these five Houses are served by one central kitchen, it was deduced the Sunday's menu was at fault. By the process of elimination, Sunday's stuffed green peppers were held responsible.
Many persons who eschew pepper skins were nonetheless struck by the plague. The meat filling must therefore bear the blame for the disaster.
So far, the dining halls have disclaimed any responsibility for Sunday's action. "The food here was the same as always," said one serving woman who asked that her name not be used. "This whole matter will pass quickly."
To back up her claim, she pointed out that while the Hygiene Building was packed, there has been no mass movement to Still man. Students from Adams and Dunster Houses, which have their own kitchens seemed quite regular in Monday class attendance.
