H.A.A. Transfers Offices To Empty Shannon Hall

The Harvard Athletic Association firmly implanted in the Union for over 28 years, will move its offices to the old Shannon Hall this week.

At the same time, it was learned that the current ticket distribution will be ended this year and that the H.A.A. will use a new system new fall.

The H.A.A. is moving to 60 Boylston St.-- which housed the ROTC units until this year--to gain a "more strategic location," according to Athletic Director Thomas D. Bolles.

Ticket Office Remains in Union

However, the ticket office will not be moved to Boylston St. until the end of the football season, to save confusion, Bolles added yesterday.

"We wanted to be closer to our two main athletic centers. This will be a good location," Bolles said last night. The new offices will be within one block of the Indoor Building and considerably closer to Soldiers Field than the old offices in the Union.

The Army and Air Force ROTC units joined the Navy in the Vanserg Building at the beginning of the year.

Need New Plan

"We'd like to find a better distribution method," Bolles said, referring to the ticket plan. "This has been our first year with free tickets. We're still trying to compile data on what percentage of seniors, juniors, sophomores and freshmen go to the games, so we can got a more accurate idea of what we need."

"We'll have a new system next year, but nothing is certain," he added.

The Athletic Association has received many complaints about current distribution of the free tickets, with undergraduates bemoaning the long lines. It is believed that one of the plans now being considered would feature a pick-up and delivery system with envelopes left at the HAA offices.

No new game tickets are on sale this week.
