New Rules Make House Football Safer; Season Opens October 13

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

New safety precautions marked the opening of House football yesterday.

For the first time, all players were required to take physical examinations before being allowed to draw equipment. So far, 130 men have been checked by the physicians.

As in previous years, each player must report three times per week for either games or practice sessions, or else he is considered ineligible to participate the following week. This is done to ensure that men are in good condition, so that injuries may be prevented.

Practice sessions continue three times weekly until October 13, when the session opens. The schedule ends November 20, when each House will play its Yale counterpart.

Eliot House was the winner of last year's intramural league football, but there has been no indication that the Elephants will have an inside track on this year's title.

Eliot House was undefeated, untied, and unscored upon last year.

House soccer and touch football also have their first games October 13.
