Mass. Hall Couch Fire Causes $1500 Damage

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Fire from a couch caused an estimated $1500 damage in Massachusetts B-21 December 19, Kerry B. Fox '56, an occupant of the room, reported yesterday.

Fox said he was awakened at 9:20 a.m. by a floormate yelling "Smoke." He found a corner of his living room in flames. Before firemen could douse the blaze, fire had gutted the floor and smoke damaged the walls and most of the occupants' clothing. A roommate, William B. Warren '56, slept through the whole disturbance.

The cause of the fire has not been explained. It was probably started by a cigarette.
