Police Say Cambridge Safe from Hoodlums

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

University students need not fear muggings so long as they stay on the Cambridge side of the Charles, Patrick F. Ready, Chief of Cambridge Police, asserted yesterday.

Referring to reports of a general out-break of hoodlum attacks in the Boston area in the past two weeks, Ready said that no attacks have been tried in Cambridge.

"I don't know about the other side of the River, but we've got everything under control on this side," Ready explained. "We've got police on the strets 24 hours a day," he added.
