Copland Compositions Deleted From Inaugural Concert Slate

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Music composed by Aaron Copland, 1951-52 Charles Eliot Norton lecturer, will be deleted from the Inaugural Concert, following the efforts of Representative Busbey (R-III.) who charged that Copland has "a long and questionable record of questionable affiliations."

Representative Busbey congratulated the Inaugural Concert Committee for dropping Copland compositions, including "A Lincoln Portrait," from the concert to be held in Constitution Hal, Tuesday.

He made his charge on evidence prepared by the House Un-American Activities Committee, and urged the committee "with an the vigor at may command" to delete the compositions.
