The trial of Arthur A. Stroebel '53, who was caught burglarizing a gas station in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on September 13, was postponed yesterday morning until October 24.

Stroebel, scheduled to come to trial yesterday, was arrested after he had smashed his way into a filling station with an axe. He told police he needed money to get back to Cambridge. Police said he was carrying a .38 revolver when arrested, and held him for armed burglary.

A delegate to the 1950 National Student Association convention, Stroebel was arraigned in District Court. If convicted of the charge, he faces a maximum of three to eight years in the state prison. He was released on $1,000 ball, in custody of his father.

When arrested, he had $51 in cash and a pay check for $73 in his pocket, police said.

According to the officers who made the arrest, Stroebel said he needed the money to continue his studies here. He said he took the gun along just to give him courage.
