The junior varsity crew elected William L. Bliss ; 52 of Winthrop House and Sherborn as its captain early this week at a meeting at the crew's Red Top training quarters. Bliss is rowing number seven in this year's jayvees.
This is Bliss's fourth year of rowing for Harvard. He rowed on the first freshman best, and later on the junior varsity crew. Besides crew, Bliss has played hockey for four years at college. The last two seasons Bliss was first string defenseman. He is also one if the undergraduate members of the committee to forward plans for a hockey rink.
After the junior varsity races Yale tomorrow at New London, its season is finished. The varsity eight, on the other hand, comes back to Cambridge to train for the Olympic tryouts.
