Members of the freshman golf team last week elected G. Bruce Thurmond (above), from West Newton and Wiggles worth captain for the 1952 season.

Thurmond has been a few strokes away from par figures all season consistently breaking 75. His record is three wins and one loss the defeat coming on the Yale course.

Winner of the Junior Division title in the 1948 New England Junior Golf Championships Thurmond also lettered in football hockey and baseball at Noble and Greenough Academy in Medford and was a member of last season's freshman hockey team.
