Riot at Brown Causes Limiting Of College, Fraternity Events

Brown University clamped down on fraternity activities yesterday following the riot last Saturday night.

President Henry M. Wriston spoke to 17 fraternity officers and announced the following rules: There are to be no college social functions this week-end, no fraternity initiations will be permitted for the rest of the school year, and officers have until tomorrow to show "cause" why the traditional spring week-end should be held. Wriston also said severe disciplinary action will be taken against individuals involved in last week's riot.
