Judo Class Eliminates Eli After Dark Fears

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Yale men need no yonger pad the streets of defenseless, helpless prey to any passing mugger.

An enlarged, improved curriculum of courses in self-defense is being offered this year as any Eli who cares to learn.

Some of the "every-man-his-own-policeman" studies, though, are not so gentlemanly. One, directed by head varsity wrestling coach John O'Donnell, aims to instruct the uninitiated in the elements of Judo and combat.

Designed "to teach a man to take care of himself in any sort of hand-to-hand combat," the rough and tumble class has attracted large enrollments from Yale's graduates as well as undergraduates.

For Bulldogs who prefer the more direct approach, boxing coach "Mosey" King-31 years at New Haven-again directs flits workouts.
