Ufford Tops Bacon For University Squash Title

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Charlie Ufford, National Intercollegiate Singles champion, edged Captain Jim Bacon for the University Squash title at Hemenway Gymnasium yesterday afternoon.

Final score of the match was 3 to 1, but it could just as easily have been reversed. Ufford took the first game, 15-8, but lost the second, 12-15. In the third game, Bacon finally lost out in a tight 15-14 battle, and Ufford wrapped it up in the fourth, 15-5.

"I think Bacon played one of his best matches," Barnaby said, "but Ufford's long reach and corner shots were just too much for Jim."
