Mrs. Dean to Talk at 'Cliffe Commencement

Mrs. Vera Michelis Dean '25, president of the Foreign Policy Association, will deliver the main speech at Radcliffe's Commencement, President Jordan announced yesterday.

Chaplain for Commencement will be the Reverend Dwight C. Smith of the Mount Vernon Church of Boston.

The Reverend Leslie T. Pennington, Minister of the First Unitarian Church of Chicago, will be preacher for the Baccalaureate Service. The Reverend Willard L. Sperry, Dean of the Divinity School, is chaplain for the event.

Mrs. Dean was visiting lecturer in government at the College in 1948. She serves as editor of the bulletin of the Foreign Policy Association, and is the author of several books dealing with foreign affairs including "The United States and Russia," "Europe in Retreat," "Four Cornerstones of Peace," and "New Governments in Europe."

Commencement is scheduled for June 18. The Baccalaureate Service will be held the previous Sunday, June 15.

Mrs. Dean is also an alumnae trustee of Radcliffe, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Brearley School.
