Eliot Takes Wrestling Championship

Eliot House won the largest Intramural wrestling meet ever staged at the Indoor Athletic Building last night. The Elephants, with a total of 18 points, beat out second place Lowell by four points with Kirkland next with 11. Dunster and Leverett rounded out the totals with ten and eight points in the three-day meet that attracted a record-breaking number of 122 entrants.

In the featured match of the evening, Eliot's Whitey Black retained his title in the Unlimited class on a forfeit against Bob Wiley of Lowell. The bout was called early in the third period due to a light shoulder injury incurred by Wiley.

Lionel and Straus North tied in the freshman meet with 11 points each, Straus South trailing close behind with ten points. Matthews North took third with eight points followed by Grays. Wiggles-worth West. and Stoughton with five points and Holworthy and Wiggles-worth East with three points each.
