Winthrop squeezed by Dudley, 1 to 9, to win the House hockey championship in a playoff game yesterday morning at the Boston Skating Club.
Taking a pass from wingman Lou Nichols, Bob Baldwin faked out the Commuter goalie and scored the lone goal for the Puritans midway in the last period.
Dudley beat Leverett 3 to 2 last week, earning the right to play Winthrop. The Commuters had a record of ten wins, no losses, and four ties, while Winthrop had 11 victories, one defeat, and two ties.
The Puritans will travel to Yale on March 21 to represent the Houses against the Eli "college" hockey champions.
In the House "A" squash league, Lowell topped Adams, 4 to 1, while Kirkland and Dunster tied, 2 to 2, with the deciding match postponed until Wednesday, and Winthrop handed the Bunnies a 5 to 0 shutout.
The Air Force ROTC topped the Naval ROTC in the only House "A" basketball league game by a score of 25 to 22.
