Varsity 'C' Wins; '55 Squash Loses

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The varsity "C" squash team clinched its league championship by beating the Chancery Club, 4 to 1, at Hemenway yesterday. Meanwhile, the freshmen were absorbing their first Interscholastic loss of the season, a 6 to 3 licking at Deerfield Academy.

Individual winners Haddon Tomes, John Rauh, Berk Johnson, and John Sears paced the varsity "C"; Paul Garrigue was the only Crimson loser. The new champs will play a home-and-home series with the victors in the second "C" division February 14 and 21.

Undefeated Deerfield proved too strong for the Yardlings, who meet Williams today in the final game of their weekend road trip. The match should be close, as the Ephs also lost, 6 to 3, to Deerfield. Guy Paschal, Bill Wister, and Jay Hathaway provided the Crimson victories yesterday. Yard losers included Bob Brown, Bats Wheeler, Mike Levinson, Jim McIntosh, Rob Albert, and Dave Berndt.
