Winthrop's rough, fast hockey team crushed Dunster, 6 to 0, at the Arena yesterday morning in the Puritans' final game of the season. With a record of 11 wins, two ties, and one loss, Winthrop is now tied with Dudley for the House Hockey League lead.
In last night's 'A' League basketball games at the Blockhouse, the Army R.O.T.C. five trimmed Kirkland, 31 to 25. Dudley forfeited its game to the Air R.O.T.C., as did Duster to the Navy. The Deacon's 'B' squad dropped its first game to Dunster, 22 to 29. Other results in the 'B' League were: Adams 23, Leverett 18; Lowell 23, Dudley 27; and Winthrop 30, Eliot 20.
Eliot's powerful swimming team bested Kirkland by 23 to 15, and Dunster by a forfelt, in a triangular meet. Other results: Dunster forfeited to Kirkland; Leverett tied Adams, 24 to 24, and beat Dudley, 41 to 7; Adams beat Dudley, 42 to 6; and Winthrop took a close one from Lowell, 25 to 23.
