3 Juniors, Annex Student Receive Salzburg Grants

Three undergraduates and a Radcliffe student have received scholarships to attend the Salzburg Seminar in American Studies next summer, the Seminar office announced yesterday.

The men, all juniors, are David L. Stark, an economics student from San Mateo, California and Lowell House; Martin J. Wohl, American history concentrator from Brooklyn and Eliot House; and Irving Yoskowitz, American History and Literature student from New York and Lowell House.

The Radcliffe girl is Anne Cook '53, history major from New York and Bertrram Hall. She will be the first Annex undergraduate to attend the Seminar as a student, and she will be accompanied by Barbara Burt, second year graduate student in Social Relations at Radcliffe.

Cooperation With Fulbright

The Seminar also revealed that a joint arrangement has been made with the Fulbright Scholarship commission under which the two organizations will cooperate in certain areas where their programs overlap. If administrative details can be arranged, the plan would allow American college professors on Fulbright teaching fellowships in Austria to teach at the Seminar when they can get leave from their Austrian institution. It would also permit Austrian students who have been accepted to attend the Seminar on Fulbright grants, thus saving the Seminar the money that would ordinarily be required for those persons.
