City Council Delays Atkinson's Reappointment to Managership

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

John Atkinson's chances for re-election as City Manager were postponed for the seventh straight week at yesterday's Cambridge City ouncil meeting.

The Council voted 6 to 3 against John D. Lynch's proposal for suspension of the rules on Atkinson in the finance committee. The proposal would have brought the measure of his re-election out of the finance committee, and into the Council.

Councilman W. Donnison Swan '16 chairman of the finance committee, told reporters that there was no possibility of any vote on Atkinson "in the near future."

The Council also recommended that a flashing beacon be placed at the corner of Mt. Auburn and DeWolfe Streets and called for a report on accidents in this area.
