"The Temptation of Maggie Haggerty," a professional New York production, opens for a pre-Broadway run on Tuesday at the Brattle Theatre. The play, a new comedy by James McGee, will run for two weeks at the Brattle and later open in New York.
This production is not by the Brattle Players. The Brattle Theatre proper announced its closing this fall because of lack of funds. It was expected that the Players, an independent organization would disband permanently, but a new drive to reopen the theatre is now being considered.
The cast of "Temptation" all New York professionals, includes Evelyn Varden, Don Hamner, Ray Walston, Phyllis Love.
