Clasby Leads Ivy in Total Yardage Gained, Punting

Tailback Dick Clasby and fullback John Culver continued to dominate the Ivy League's offensive columns last week.

Clasby took the lead for the first time in total offense, and retained his top position in the ground gaining and punting categories, while Culver moved ahead of Yale's Ed Woodsum to take first place in the scoring department. Culver's touchdown against the victorious Bruins gives him ten tallies and 60 points.

In gaining 175 yards against Brown, Clasby lifted his net rushing gain to 903, thereby breaking Tiger Dick Kazmaier's single-year Ivy League rushing mark by 42 yards. A total of 58 yards in the air gives Clasby an aerial gain of 452 yards, and a net offensive total of 1,355 yards.

Clasby leads Columbia aerialist Mitch Price by 120 yards in total offense. He is also 129 yards in front of Princeton fullback Homer Smith in rushing.

Clasby's average of 38.2 yards for 40 punts gives him first position in that category.
