Dean Griswold of the Law School will endorse the candidacy of Republican George Fingold for Attorney General of Massachusetts in a public statement to be released shortly, it was learned yesterday by the CRIMSON.
The dean will join with the deans of the Boston University and Northeastern University Law Schools in signing the statement, which states that the legal profession thinks that the time has come for decency and dignity to be restored to the office of the Attorney General.
In a telephone interview with Dean Nicholson of the Northeastern School of Law last night, he stated, "Personally, I have no doubt that George Fingold will restore decency and dinity to that important office."
Signers of the statement will also include district attorneys and lawyers from many cities in Massachusetts. James C. Gahan, Jr. LL.B. '40 of Boston, a sponsor of the petition, said that this action was a state-wide movement.
