"What's Funny?" 4 Humorists Ask In Forum Tonight

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Al Capp, Henry Morgan, Max Shulman, and Ira Wallach will discuss "What's Funny Today?" in the third Law School Forum tonight at 8 p.m. in the Rindge Technical High School. Felicia Lamport, author of "Mink on Weekdays (Ermine on Sundays)," will be the moderator.

The panel consists of three humorous writers and a radio comedian. The best known to local audiences is Al Capp, who has spoken several times at Law Forums, Freshman Smokers, and Summer School Conferences.

Capp writes and draws the comic strip "Li'l Abner" and the continuity for the "Abbie 'n Slats" strip. He is a director of the Boston Summer Theatre.

Max Shulman and Ira Wallach are the two other writers on the program. Shulman has written about the army and mid-western college life. Some of his books are "Zebra Derby," "The Feather Merchants," and "Barefoot Boy With Cheek."

Ira Wallach is a newcomer into the comedy field. He has written two volumes of parodies, "Hopalong Freud" and "Hopalong Freud Rides Again."

Henry Morgan formerly had his own nation wide radio program, and originated the now common commercial ridiculing the sponsor. Currently, he comments on the state of the world in a program broadcast over a New York radio station from midnight to 3 a.m.
