Draft Grabs Second College Man Thursday

Anthony Jonklass '52 becomes the second senior to be inducted into the service during the school term when he goes into the Army on Thursday. The first was football captain Carroll Lowenstein, who was inducted last October.

Registrar Sargent Kennedy stated last night that although he had "no idea of how many will be called," he didn't think many more students would be inducted.

Kennedy explained that each student is legally allowed one postponement on any induction notice received during the school year. Thus a junior would be permitted to finish the year, but whether he returned to school or not was up to the draft board, which would also be able to call him out.
