More people are using more books in Lamont Library during this examination period than last year at the same time, Philip J. McNiff, assistant in charge of Lamont Library, told the CRIMSON yesterday.

It was estimated that 700 to 900 students study in the library at one time, a slight increase over last year. During the reading period, approximately 1,200 to 1,800 books from desk three alone were used each day. As many as 2,600 volumes were taken out over the weekends.
