Hickman Hints at Spring Drills Ban

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The other Big Three Schools may follow Yale in abolishing spring football practice, Herman Hickman intimated to reporters when he visited Boston earlier this week. "If Harvard and Princeton do not drop spring drills, we'll be handicapped," the Yale mentor added.

As for his own situation, Hickman said he would "have to go along with the administration, which knows best. I hope the players try some lacrosse in April; it's a great conditioning game for football." Hickman concluded the interview by denying the rumor that his assistant Peahead Walker was quitting to resume his post at Wake Forest as head coach, a job he hold before coming to Yale.
