Israeli sailors marched and the Harvard Band played last night at a mass meeting in the Boston Garden honoring David Ben-Gurion. Prime Minister of Israel.

Ben-Gurion wept openly before a crowd of 1,800 when he heard that over four million dollars in Bonds for Israel had been sold in New England. "The Jews have been slaughtered and punished," he said, "but it will never happen again."

Earlier in the day Ben-Gurion spoke at Brandeis University before 2,000 students, including 300 from Harvard and Radcliffe.

He told of the "spiritual triumph" of the state of Israel and of great opportunities for American intellectuals to help strengthen the new nation. "In the nest future, when the state is safety established, we will concentrate all our ability in building up a civilization."
