Penn, Army Play Varsity in Tennis

Two Eastern Intercollegiate Tennis League matches in a row mark this weekend's play for the varsity tennis team. The Crimson will play Pennsylvania today at 3:45 p.m. and Army tomorrow at 3 p.m. both on the Soldiers Field courts.

Though the Quakers usually field good squads, this year their record is only about .500. The Penn team has lost to Princeton, Navy, and Yale already in E.I.T.L. competition. Comparative scores show that the Tigers defeated the Quakers, 7 to 2, and topped the Crimson, 8 to 1. Against Navy, Penn lost, 9 to 0, while Harvard went down, 6 to 3.

At First Singles

The Quaker lineup has changed throughout the season, but either sophomore Jim Whitmoyer or Captain Clint Packard has played first singles.

Crimson Coach Jack Barnaby will send Gerry Murphy and Hugh Nawn into one doubles position to try to give his team better balance in both matches. Murphy may also play singles in place of Bayard Robb.

Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. the freshman 'B' team will meet St. Mark's at Southboro.
