55 Will Receive Navy Commissions June 20

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A record number of midshipmen will receive commissions as ensigns at the annual Class Day ceremony on June 20.

Fifty-five men, almost twice as many as the class of 30 commissioned last year, will receive their papers. Forty-two men are going into the regular navy and 13 into the reserves.

The regular navy men will go on a compulsory two-year tour of duty after June. Men in the reserve, in order to avoid being drafted while in college, have agreed to serve two years upon commissioning if fighting continues.
