Tennis Games Pit Varsity With BU, '54 at Deerfield

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The varsity and freshman tennis squads will play away today as Coach Jack Barnaby leads his heavily-favored team against B.U. and Corey Wynn's Yardlings take on Deerfield Academy.

The varsity will field its usual top sixmen for singles: Charlie Ufford, Bob Bramhall, Art French, Bayard Robb, Dave Watts, and Gerry Murphy, Bramhall and Bill Goodman, Ufford and French, and Watts and Robb will probably play the doubles matches in that order.

The freshman lineup has been shaken up considerably since the last match. John Rauh is playing number one and Gene Mann second. John Carolla will fill the third slot in place of Terry King, who has been lost for the season for scholastic reasons. Don Spencer has moved up to fourth, ahead of Don Bossart and Frank Goodman who round out the team.

Rauh and Herb Stone, Spencer and Bossart, and Carolla and Bossart, and Carolla and Mike Ward will form the Yardling doubles teams.
