Kirkland's 'A' basketball team clinched a League tie last night by downing Eliot, 40 to 39, in an overtime game in the I.A.B.
Matthews South defeated Mower to tie Matthews North in the Yard National League basketball race. The playoff will be held tomorrow night. Holworthy crushed Matthews North, 30 to 11.
The Winthrop 'A' quintet confirmed an earlier win in a replay with Dunster, 41 to 37. In the 'B' League, Dunster beat Dudley, 37 to 24, while Kirkland trampled Eliot, 39 to 9.
Dudley's six outskated Leverett 2 to 0 at the Boston Skating Club, yesterday.
The Adams 'A' squash team trounced Lowell, 4 to 1. Eliot 'A' scored a 5 to 0 win over Winthrop, while Kirkland beat Leverett by the same score. Five to 0 victories prevailed among the B's: Eliot over Winthrop, Kirkland over Leverett, and Adams over Lowell.
Sixty boxers weighed in yesterday for the House and freshman tournaments.
