Shy Models Pose Artists Problems

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Art Association president Sherman H. Hawkings '51 declined to comment yesterday on reports that the University's art lovers have failed in their efforts to get nude models to pose for painting classes.

The Association in a precedent shattering decision by the Faculty Committee on Undergraduate Activities, last November received permission to use nude models on University Property.

Officers of the Association are reported to have gone to local model agencies in an effort to obtain the nudes, but to have been blocked at every turn.

It is still uncertain what effect the failure to obtain nude models will have on the Club's existence. The group almost became extinct three years ago when an officer was disciplined for using a nude model without University permissions. It returned to activity last fall, and soon got permission to have nude models.
