Button Takes Fourth World Figure Skating Championship

Dick Button '52 won the world figure skating championship for the fourth straight time in Milan, Italy, last night. After his victory Button said he would definitely defend both his world and Olympic titles next year.

Saturday he established an unofficial world's record when he glided through the compulsory half of the championships with a score of 780.7 points. That gave him a margin of 72.1 points to take into yesterday's competition.

Button's final score was 183.7, followed by James Grogan of Colorado Springs, Colorado, with 170.7.
