Yardling Quintet Takes On Huskies

The freshman basketball team goes into action for the first time since January 16 when it meets Northeastern at the Blockhouse at 3 p.m. this afternoon.

Since their last game, in which they defeated the Boston University freshmen, the Yardlings have scrimmaged almost daily, but have not met any outside opposition. The Northeastern freshmen have been back in competition for some time now, and should provide stiff opposition.

Crimson coach Floyd Wilson will start Captain Bill Dennis and Ed Condon at guard, Ed Blodnick at center, and Eddie Krinsky and Bill Gremp at forward. The latter, who has improved greatly since the start of the season, is the only member of the first five who is not from the New York area.

The freshman team has a fine record to date. Of the eight games it has played, only two have been losses. An off night against B.C. produced one defeat, and Holy Cross start Togo Palazzi produced the other.
