Track Team Will Meet Northeastern This Afternoon; Odds Favor Crimson

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The varsity track team will go through the motions today in a meet against Northeastern in Briggs Cage. The visitors are weak by comparisca to the Crimson and should provide little opposition. The freshman meet has been cancelled at the request of Northeastern.

Today's most will give Jaakko Mikkoia his first real look at several of his new men and will allow some of last year's lettermen a chance to get back in condition.

The best race of the day will probably come in the 600, where the Crimson's Ronnie Berman and Dave Grutzner are scheduled to compete. Berman has had the better of the races between the two so far, but Grutzner still has a chance.

Other interesting races will be in the hurdles, where Bob Twitchell and Charlie Durakis are set to compete, and in the mile, where Dave Cairns will be out to break 4:20. The three hundred yard race has been added, at the request of Northeastern, and the relays dropped.

Northeastern's main strength will probably be in the 1000, where they have two men returning from last year and a good freshman prospect. The Huskies will count heavily on several first year men to help make the meet interesting.
