Yale anticipates a $1,000,000 deficit for the present college year, according to Treasurer Laurence G. Tighe.
In line with this expected deficit, the Corporation has voted a $135 tuition hike which will increase the annual income by $570,000. Scholarship and aid increases will compensate for the raise in Yale charges in most cases.
Harvard contemplates no immediate hike, but Vassar already has announced increases, and Princeton is currently considering similar measures.
