House Sixes Have Heavy Schedule; Use Skating Club

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The House hockey season, which started practice this week, will be the longest over, Adolph W. Samborski '25, Director of Intramural Athletics, revealed yesterday.

"We'll be playing a double round-robin schedule this year." he said, "so that each House will compete in 14 games instead of the customary seven."

Chief reason for the increase was a decision by varsity Coach Cooney Welland to abolish morning practices. This freed the ice of the Boston Skating Club for use by the Houses. Welland has also eliminated Thursday afternoon practice--to allow for labs and late exams--so that additional time at the Arena will be available to the Houses.

All told, House hockey will have 33 percent more ice time than last year.
