Spirited, not listless, should now describe the Yardling soccer team that meets the Eli cubs in New Haven at 2 p.m. today in what promises to be an even game. Judging by this week's practice attendance, the freshmen have fully recovered from their lethargic spell before the Brown game.
Yale's 5 to 2 win over Connecticut early in the season proved the halfback line of Charlie Safford, Mac Quarrie, and John Howson is the mainstay of the Blue team. Crimson coach Andrew "Poley" Guyda has shuffled his lineup to give Captain Mauricio Toro a chance to score at left inside. Alex Haegler moves back to fullback, while Ruskin Mcintosh will take left half and Charles Jobbins will shirt to center half.
The Yardlings enter the game with a three win, three loss record. Comparative scores indicate a very close game--both teams lost to Phillips Exeter Academy, 3 to 2.
