Douglas Will Not Run For President in 1952

Walter C. Carrington '52 yesterday disclosed that the recently learned from Justice William O. Douglas that Douglas would definitely not be a candidate for the presidency in 1952. Carrington, president of the H.L.U., spoke with Douglas after the end of the Justice's speech at Brandeis University last week.

Douglas also said that the time has come for American liberals to take a positive stand against the present political hysteria, by energetic opposition of scare bills, and by testimony at legislative inquiries.
