The conspiracy trial of Dirk Jan Struik, suspended M.I.T. mathematics professor, will take place some time in December, his lawyer, Oliver S. Allen, said yesterday The Commonwealth of Massachusetts formally filed charges against Struik yesterday.
Struik was indicted in September by a Middlesex County Grand Jury for "conspiring to overthrow the government." The state charges that Struik used the "methods of the Communists in his teachings."
