Junior Varsity Eleven to Meet Fort Devena Team Away Today

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Norm Shepard taken his Junior Varsity football team to Fort Devens today in the 1951 J.V. season's opener at 2 30 p m.

Shepard, starting from scratch this year with very few early candidates, has developed a good Jayvee team built around some promising sophomores from last year's Yardling eleven.

Bob Gremp at quarterback, just recovered from an injury, Fred Heller at right end, and Tony Caimi at right guard, are the outstanding sophomores. Dinney Finney, a junior playing left half, should provide the team with good broken-field running.

Carroll Lowenstein, ex-Crimson varsity captain, who was inducted into the army on Wednesday, is now at Fort Devens in basic training. He is not expected to play against Harvard today, however.
