NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Winthrop in hoping to pull out of its first-place tie with Lowell in the House football league by a victory this afternoon over Dudley. The tie for second place will probably be broken also as Kirkland meets Dunster in the other of today's games. The Eliot game with the freshman "B" team scheduled for today has been cancelled to make way for the Elephants' game with Lowell tomorrow.

Each team has played three games. Eliot was last year's football champion but Kirkland won the Straus Trophy.

The standings as the season comes to the halfway mark after 12 games are:   Won  Lost  Tied Lowell  2  0  1 Winthrop  2  0  1 Dunster  2  1  0 Kirkland  2  1  0 Leverett  2  1  0 Eliot  1  2  0 Adams  0  2  0 Dudley  0  2  0
