Varsity Tests Pass Defenses

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Pass defense kept the varsity football team busy for most of its regular afternoon practice yesterday. The first defensive squad worked almost exclusively on this in non-contact drills during which jayvee quarterback Bob Grump passed from Dartmouth T-formation plays.

The defensive squad used both T and single-wing plays in running against the freshmen. Dick Class by was back at the tailback position for the scrimmage which ended the practice, and he looked impressive, especially on pass plays. He also broke away for one of the few long gains against the freshmen, who, led by Captain Tim Anderson, showed a strong defense.

Fullback John Culver worked out at defense only. He is still hampered by a bruised left leg, but is expected to start Saturday.
